 Need more incentive to join New England Dragway’s points series? How about this. This year’s NHRA Division 1 Summit Team Finals will be held at Lebanon Valley Dragway September 20 – 22, 2012. The announcement was made official during the NHRA Division 1 Track Operator meeting on January 13. “For years New England Dragway racers have had to travel to locations as far away as Norwalk, Ohio to compete in the team finals. This change in venue gives racers who operate on a tight budget an opportunity to take home a NHRA Bracket Finals championship,” said New England Dragway General Manager Joe Lombardo.
In order to become eligible for a spot on Team New England Dragway’s roster you must be a member of the track’s annual points series and compete in at least three points races during the season. There will be 40 slots on this year’s team that will include a minimum of nine racers in Super, nine racers in Pro, two racers in Street and two racers in Motorcycle/Snowmobile. Team selection will take place on September 2.

There will be two new plaques greeting people when they enter the office of New England Dragway this year. D.R.A.W. recognized the historic facility with its coveted Track of the Year award. That was shortly followed by the NHRA Division 1 Excellence in Management award presented to General Manager Joe Lombardo.
"The management award really belongs to all of those who make New England Dragway tick. Everyone from the maintenance crew to ticketing, safety, food services and parking share this award with me. I've always believed we have the best crew. This award proves it," said Lombardo. |
